For those of you who might not have seen this. VFW National's fiscal year ends August 31st. "The Member Service Center is preparing for the VFW fiscal year-end, please be advised on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 11:30 am CDT dues payments, installment payments, installment enrollment, magazine subscriptions, member transfers, and member updates will be taken, but will experience a slight delay in processing. We expect to resume normal processing on or before Wednesday, September 8, 2022. "We will continue to take store orders during VFW Store inventory which begins Thursday, August 25, 2022, and runs through Wednesday, August 31, 2022; however, shipping of orders or the processing of cancellations/returns will not be available until September 1, 2022." Just put the 2022-23 bonding info up on the QM Continuity page. Rates are the same as last year but please read the bonding notes.  We also updated the QM checklist for the new year. You'll know you have the new one because it says "2022-23" on the top and it has green highlights instead of red. Thanks for all you do!

We held a monthly QM training class tonight. We covered: Time for annual Incorporation update. A new link has been added to the Quartermaster Continuity Book on the Georgia VFW webpage (georgiavfw.org) under the Resources tab. Went over the General Order (#6) that was sent out today. End of year is coming up so help your Post make sure they have all bases covered. (The program year ends on April 30.) Discussed an email from Georgia Secretary of State office saying that they will be sending out info on the Annual Bingo Report and that the due date may be slipped till the end of April. Stay tuned and let QM Carroll know if you hear any more detail on this.

We covered several topics that included: Reminder to renew your incorporation documents at ecorp.sos.georgia.gov An update on the Members Only section of the VFWGA.com website. Test it out and tell us what ideas you have for more info there. Accessing the All American Dashboard and the data there The possibility of publishing a printed calendar on a monthly basis. Department is looking at bringing on some online payment systems like Zelle, Venmo, or Paypal in the near future. We'll update once we have more details. A brief discussion on the new VFW mobile app that helps you recruit.

You should have your Legacy Life Membership Payout in your accounts today.

Walking through some good ideas about how to set up your Social Media accounts. 

Every year now National runs the Life Membership list against several databases to see if members have deceased.  QMs you should see an item titled "Deceased Life Member Report" on the left menu in OMS. Looks like Georgia was below average overall (which is good). REMINDER: You only need to report those members who you know to be still alive.

We will walk thru the various 990 forms and where to find them on the IRS websites. We will discuss tax-related issues.

QMs - the June MMJ just posted on VFW.org for those of you that review it. MMJ = Monthly Maintenance Journal - take a look, you'll like it.

We are scheduling a Zoom training for 7 PM (1900) on July 12 to go over bonding and any questions new QMs may have . You should get an email from HQ tomorrow. UPDATE: Emails went out on July 6th.
