National Convention in Baltimore is Canceled
Email from the National Adjutant General of the VFW:
We have been informed by representatives of the Baltimore Convention Center that, due to circumstances beyond its control, the Baltimore Convention Center will not be able to accommodate our contractual needs for the 2021 National Convention. As such, it is not possible to hold the 2021 National Convention in Baltimore.
We are in the process of exploring other feasible options to conduct a convention at alternative locations.
As soon as those options are available, they will be presented to the Council of Administration for consideration of the alternative locations, and a determination on where and how to hold our National Convention.
What this means:
- We are not going to Baltimore for the National Convention
- They are looking at alternative locations and setups.
- National will communicate an update as soon as a decision is made.
- Stand by...
What it does NOT mean:
- That there will be no National Convention
- That anything has changed with the Department Convention
- That a decision has been made about how to proceed
Rumors are already flying. Don't play that game. Wait for the official word from National.
